Many people are skeptical about completing a course online, there can be a number of reasons for this.

  1. They don’t know what to expect from an online course as they may not have completed one before;
  2. Some people may not have strong computer skills and may panic about navigating through the online system or have a fear of not being able to complete the course;
  3. They are afraid that they will not be able to complete the course or commit to it the same as a face to face course;
  4. Many people believe that they will not have the support from tutors that they would from a face to face course; or
  5. They believe that the course will not be as good or as beneficial as a face to face course.

I can’t deny, with some courses you can fall into these difficulties, but the vast majority of online courses provide flexibility to the learners and allows them to complete qualifications that they otherwise would not have the opportunity to do. You will need to have computer skills i.e. be able navigate around your computer, use the internet and open documents and use Microsoft PowerPoint and Word as well as write emails.  You don’t need to be a computer wizz kid but you do need to have basic skills in computers to make it easier for you to complete the course.

At Clarity Consultancy we recently invested in creating a simple, user friendly online learning system. The course provides as much detail for the learners than in the face to face classes. Everything is in order and the system does not contain anything that should be unfamiliar to the learners for example we include powerpoint presentations, videos and extra reading.

In order for you to get the most tutor support that you need, within our online courses we have a messaging option, you can send emails, you can ring us to discuss something and we also have our online conferencing facility. The online conferencing is pretty much the same as being in a classroom as you can see your tutor and the tutor can see you and talk to you or show you things on a board so realistically you are not missing out on that face to face support.  We pride ourselves in providing support the whole way through your course so that it makes the course as easy as possible and enjoyable where it is face to face or online.

With our online courses we have deadlines for you to keep you motivated and working towards your goals. You tutor will also set mini deadlines with you if you want them and keep checking in with you to see how you are getting on.  We also provide feedback on your assignments to help you as well.

It can be difficult to know what to expect from online courses and each organisation and course will be different. If you have any doubts but would like to complete an online course with us, please drop us a message or give us a ring with any questions you have, and we can talk you through the process.

Also keep an eye out on our Facebook page for videos about our online system which might also give you an idea of what to expect.

Online courses are the future, it gives opportunities, and you can work at dates and times that suit you (even at midnight). So don’t right it off if you want to progress with your learning. It might not suit everyone, but it is an option you can research.

As always if you have any questions please drop us an email or give us a ring.
